DEFINITIONS

The following defined terms are in addition to the definitions and terms of the Texas Transportation Code, which shall apply on System Administration property to the extent they are not in conflict with these regulations.

A. COMPLEX
All the property, buildings, structures, parking lots, (owned or leased) and thoroughfares under the control of System Administration.

B. DIRECTOR OF POLICE
The Director of Police of U.T. System. The office designated to enforce parking regulations.

C. DRIVER
Every person who drives, operates or is in actual physical control of a vehicle.

D. EMPLOYEE
All employees, including temporary, hourly and part-time employees.

E. GUARDS
The U.T. System or U.T. Austin Guard Force acting directly or through duly authorized U.T. System or Austin Police Officers.

F. MOTOR VEHICLE
Includes automobiles, buses, trucks, motorcycles, motor scooters, motorbikes, mopeds and bicycles.

G. OPERATIONS & SUPPORT SERVICES (ACCOUNTING AND PURCHASING SERVICES/FACILITIES MANAGEMENT)
The System Administration office designated to issue permits and collect parking fees and fines. Also responsible for maintaining Complex parking facilities and securing necessary off-site parking.

H. PERMITS
Parking permits issued by Accounting and Purchasing Services.

I. U.T. SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION OR SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION
The University of Texas System Administration at Austin, Texas.

J. VISITOR
A person who is not an employee or officer of the System Administration and who conducts business with and/or who performs a service to System Administration.
