AUSTIN, TEXAS - Today, the University of Texas System Board of Regents voted unanimously to name Julie V. Philley, MD, the next president of the University of Texas at Tyler. Philley currently serves as the university’s executive vice president for health affairs and vice provost and is a board-certified physician in pulmonary and critical care medicine.

The University of Texas System Board of Regents will meet Wednesday, May 8 and Thursday, May 9, 2024. The meeting will be held on the second floor of the UT System Building, 210 West 7th St. in Austin.

AUSTIN, TEXAS – Institutions from The University of Texas System collectively invested $4.3 billion in research in fiscal year 2023, up ten percent from FY 2022, ranking the UT System #2 nationally for research expenditures among higher education institutions and systems.

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – Texas’ top community college students today were honored at the 2024 All-Texas Academic Team Medallion Ceremony, hosted by The University of Texas System and the Texas Association of Community Colleges (TACC) at UT San Antonio.

The event, which featured a keynote address from Elizabeth Mayer, assistant commissioner of academic and health affairs at the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, recognized a total of 181 students from 49 Texas community colleges for outstanding achievement.
