Remarks

With a very heavy heart, I write to let you know that Bill Henrich, our extraordinary colleague, friend, and President of UT Health Science Center at San Antonio since 2009, passed away this morning.

Bill valiantly and successfully fought a bout with cancer in 2012, with stem cells from his son that saved his life.  Bill returned to his office after an eight-month leave with a stronger than ever determination to make UT Health San Antonio the best it could be in treating, curing, and educating.  And that he did magnificently.

Remarks
Immediately upon learning of the horrific terrorist attacks in Israel, staff at the UT System and our institutions worked to identify any UT students, faculty, or staff in Israel and the surrounding area, assess their situation, and arrange to evacuate them. Fortunately, we are not aware of any members of the UT community who have been physically harmed in the region.
