I have always had fun in my 20 years of teaching, partially because I never totally figure teaching out - there is always room for improvement.
I am now working towards getting my students to be totally engaged in the classroom; I no longer lecture, and they are no longer passive note-takers. My teaching comes in after they work on thought-provoking problems in the classroom; when I talk about issues right after they have struggled with those very issues, they truly hear me. It is extremely rewarding to see students achieve a successful understanding of challenging mathematics.
