Teaching has made me a better scholar as it is one of the best ways to learn an academic discipline or topic. You must fully understand a problem, concept, or method in order to effectively instruct others.
I’m energized year after year by the ideals, talents, optimism, and hard work of our students and faculty. It’s a joy to work with colleagues and graduate students from a variety of fields to study public health and medicine problems and how economics and other disciplines inform our understanding of human behavior, system behavior, and the tradeoffs associated with alternative resource allocations.
