The motivation to do my best comes from the students. They push me to be my best every single day, and I don’t ever want to let them down.
I believe all students have the potential to succeed at a high level if you demonstrate that you believe in their abilities, celebrate their victories, and encourage them when they stumble. I work hard to follow sage advice I received from Glenn Frankel, who was the director of the School of Journalism when I joined the faculty in 2011: “Just show them that you care, and they will follow you anywhere.”
