Effective teachers communicate their passion for learning to students. They inspire students to ask questions and to seek out answers to those questions. They arouse their students’ curiosity.
Teaching is about building and maintaining relationships – relationships between students and their instructors, between students and course material, and between students and their peers. My role, as a teacher, is to facilitate the development of those bonds. It is what I try to do every time I walk into a classroom. Fostering those relationships is a challenge that still excites me after many years of teaching.
