Sabrina Starnaman, Ph.D.

Clinical Assistant Professor

School of Arts & Humanities

UT Dallas

Dr.  Starnaman's work focuses on American literature, particularly books by and about women. She examines representations of bodies, particularly representations of gender and disability. She prefers texts that are filled with aberrant bodies and labyrinthine cityscapes. She is interested in how nineteenth-century activists remediated exploitative labor practices, racism, and poverty. Starnaman is interested in finding ways that their historical solutions, often implemented locally, can be brought to bear on similar problems in the twenty-first century.
