Yolanda R. Davila, Ph.D., RN

For the past 22 years, Dr. Davila has investigated facilitators and barriers to intimate partner violence prevention among adult women with a special focus on Hispanic women, health disparities among vulnerable populations and the influence of culture on health behaviors. She routinely presents her research at regional, national and international scientific conferences with further dissemination through peer-reviewed publications.

Dr. Davila is a Board Member for the Journal of Psychosocial Nursing and Family & Community Health. She has co-edited two special issues, one on community health workers and the other on health disparities, for Family & Community Health.

As an educator, Dr. Davila has taught across BSN, MSN, DNP and PhD nursing programs. At the undergraduate level, she has provided training in psychiatric mental health, community and family health nursing, research and ethics. At the graduate level, she has provided training in group psychotherapy, nursing research, qualitative research, nursing theory, public and population health, and health policy.
