I believe it is important to convey my passion and enthusiasm for my field to my students. I think they remember our actions, and I hope to serve as a role model for respecting the suffering of those with mental illness. I think that if they respect that struggle, they will care enough to screen, refer, and treat vulnerable patients who need their help. I think being an outstanding teacher helps me to engage students more fully on more domains, retain more information, and be more comfortable and confident to care for these patients.
