Dr. Rebecca Schroeder brings a wealth of experience to the classroom as a dedicated educator at The University of Texas at San Antonio. With a focus on Academic Introduction and Strategies (AIS) within the Exploratory and Life and Health Science pathways, as well as teaching in Multidisciplinary Studies, and leading Introduction to Data Science and Data Science for all, Dr. Schroeder's passion lies in empowering students with essential skills for both academia and the professional world.
In 2021, Dr. Schroeder was honored to receive the Presidential Distinguished Teaching Award for her commitment to core curriculum teaching. Currently, she is a proud fellow of the Texas Academic Leadership Academy, a role that allows her to further contribute to the academic landscape.
As a member of the GenAI Consortium, Dr. Schroeder has played a pivotal role in exposing over 10,000 students across diverse disciplines to the exciting realms of Data Science, machine learning, and AI technologies. Witnessing her students thrive and build a toolbox of skills to achieve their academic and professional goals is Dr. Schroeder's utmost priority.
Beyond the classroom, she is an advocate for mental health awareness and has organized multiple events to challenge the stigma surrounding mental health. She firmly believes in creating a supportive environment for students to flourish not only academically but also personally. UTSA holds a special place in her heart. The vibrant culture and the unique student population make it an extraordinary university to be a part of.
Away from the academic realm, Dr. Schroeder is a proud mom and wife who cherishes spending quality time outdoors with her family. An avid crafter at heart, she finds joy in bringing her creations to life.
