About the Speaker:

Dan is a native Austinite who personally gives back to his community through participation on the boards of directors for numerous philanthropic organizations, including Austin Community Foundation, Glasshouse Policy and The Long Center. In 2005, Dan co-founded BuildASign and grew it to a $100+ million dollar business that was purchased in 2018 for $280 million. An active investor with over 100 early stage portfolio investments, Dan co-founded Notley Ventures with his wife, Lisa, in 2015. The venture capital fund catalyzes social innovation and unlocks opportunities with today’s impact organizations and changing communities. Dan also mentors aspiring entrepreneurs working with the Capital Factory and SKU, is a member of the 2016 Class of Henry Crown Fellows and the Aspen Global Leadership Network at the Aspen Institute, and earned both his undergraduate degrees in computer science and philosophy and his J.D. from UT Austin.
