Getting sick after hours or on weekends used to mean a lengthy, costly trip to the emergency room or urgent care center.* Starting September 1, 2019, for members in the UT SELECT Medical plan and the UT CONNECT ACO Medical plan, you will have 24/7/365 access to virtual visits, provided by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) and powered by MDLIVE. You won’t have to leave the comfort of your own home to talk to a doctor. And best of all, your visit with MDLIVE has a $0 copay!

Virtual visits allow you to consult a doctor for non-emergency health conditions by phone, mobile app or online video — anytime, anywhere. Speak to a doctor or schedule an appointment at a time that works best for you. With virtual visits, you get:

  • 24/7 access to independently contracted, board-certified doctors;
  • Access via online video, mobile app or telephone; and
  • E-prescriptions sent to your local pharmacy, when appropriate.

Virtual visits doctors can treat a variety of health conditions, including:

  • Allergies,
  • Asthma,
  • Behavioral Health,
  • Colds and flu,
  • Ear problems (age 12+),
  • Fever (age 3+),
  • Nausea,
  • Pink eye,
  • Rash, and
  • Sinus infections.

After September 1, 2019, you can download the MDLIVE app. Registering is simple and easy. You just need your first name, date of birth, and BCBSTX member ID number, found on your ID card. For more information about MDLIVE, you can call MDLIVE at 888-680-8646 after September 1, 2019 or visit MDLIVE.com/bcbstx. If you are a UT SELECT participant, you can also contact a health advocate at 866-882-2034 to learn more. UT CONNECT ACO participants can contact CONNECT beginning on September 1, 2019.

*In the event of an emergency, this service should not be used in place of an emergency room or urgent care facility. Proper diagnosis should come from your doctor and medical advice is between you and your doctor.

MDLIVE, an independent company, operates and administers the virtual visits program and is solely responsible for its operations and that of its contracted providers.
