Sgt. Stuart Alexander was awarded the Larry W Fultz Memorial Award for Excellence from TACUPA on July 9th by Jim Walters, Chief of Police SMU.     

Deputy Sheriff Charlie Patnode, a retired UT System Police Inspector, joins Director Heidingsfield at the graduation and commissioning of the 103rd Basic Peace Officer Class on July 9, 2021 which included one cadet from the Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office.

In July 2021, UTRGV Officer Antonio Zarzoza spoke at an international conference organized by the FBI National Academy Associates Mexico & Latin America chapters in Mexico (Pachuca, Hidalgo) that gathered more than 2,800 attendees from several countries both on-site and remotely.    

On May 19, 2021, UTPB had an awards luncheon--Sgt. A. “Sandi” Hart was the recipient of the UT Permian Basin employee  of the Year Award. We are very proud of Sgt. Hart for her dedication to the UT System Police and UT Permian Basin.

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Police Department Awards and Recognition virtual ceremony was held March 5, 2021.  The inclusion of the National Anthem and a moment of silence for those who have fallen to COVID-19 made the experience even more moving.
