Each month, Get to Know… will feature two members of UT System Administration’s talented and diverse staff as they offer insights into their lives in and out of the office. Each new edition will be published here. This week,
Senior Facility Manager
Office of Capital Projects
What are your primary job responsibilities?
I manage a highly skilled team of professionals that work to keep the UT System building safe, clean and well-maintained.
What do you most enjoy about your job?
Ultimately, I enjoy working with people. In Facilities Management, we are a place where many feel comfortable to reach out if they have a question or need help with something. I really like to lend a hand or direct someone to the right place when needed.
What advice would you give someone who is new to UT System?
Be respectful and appreciate others. Work hard and never stop learning. Be vocal about what you want and don't be afraid to fight for it. Get comfortable with the uncomfortable.
What do you do to disconnect or de-stress?
When it is time to de-stress, you can find me listening to music and planting in the garden. I appreciate the time I get to be outside, under the sun and working with my hands.
