Purchasing Coordinator
Office of Contracts and Procurement

What are your primary job responsibilities?

My primary responsibility is ensuring that procurements are compliant with the State of Texas and The University of Texas System Administration policies and procedures.

What do you most enjoy about your job?

It is 100 percent my co-workers! I consider them my second family. Everyone is supportive and they challenge me to be my best. Having co-workers that truly want you to succeed in your career and life in general is a great feeling. When I was debating on going back to school to receive my master’s in public administration, I was very much on the fence about if I should do it. One of the reasons I decided that I should was the support I received from my department.

What advice would you give to someone who is new to the UT System?

It’s OK to ask questions. I have been at UT System for a little more than a year now and I still have to ask questions on a daily basis.

What do you do to disconnect or de-stress?

I have a lot of different ways to disconnect from work and school. I recently bought a Peloton Treadmill and that has been one of my favorite ways to de-stress and disconnect. I have never been a runner or even enjoyed running until now. I love going on walks, going to happy hours, watching Bravo TV shows and following the Arkansas Razorbacks -- even though the Razorbacks add to my stress!

Who is currently playing on your Spotify playlist?

Right now, it’s between Kelsea Ballerini’s new EP “Rolling Up the Welcome Mat” or Zach Bryan. I’m seeing both in concert this year, and I am very pumped to go!
