Staff Council provides opportunities to help others for the holidays

The UT System Staff Council is coordinating food and coat drives to help Central Texans in need during the holidays.

New and gently used coats may be donated to Coats for Kids from Nov. 12 through Dec. 5. Designated bins are set up in the lobby on the first floor. More information and additional ways to help can be found through the Junior League of Austin.

Collections for the Central Texas Food Bank may also be left in designated bins in the lobby. Non-perishable food items will be accepted from Nov. 28 through Dec. 21. Items most in need include peanut butter, canned chicken breast or tuna, canned low sodium vegetables, canned fruit in its own juice (no sugar added), dry pinto beans, brown rice, nonfat dry milk powder and 100% whole grain cereal.
