Established in 2021 by the Texas Legislature and the UT System to serve local students who aspire to study, train and build their careers in their home region, the UT Center at Laredo is set on growing with this bustling community and adding more degree programs from UT institutions each year. With 40% of its population under 18, Laredo is a youthful community with a bright future. The UT Center at Laredo is turning dreams into realities — providing students with career opportunities, while addressing healthcare disparities.

The UT Center at Laredo’s clinical healthcare arm — Dementia, Geriatric and Brain Health Clinic — offers the only dementia-specific care in the region. In partnership with UT Health San Antonio’s Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s & Neurodegenerative Diseases, and staffed by two renowned UT Health San Antonio physicians, residents can schedule appointments and explore opportunities to participate in clinical trials.
