Event Description
Gifts through trusts and estate plans are an important part of an institution's balanced fundraising program. Estate gifts are often the largest gifts donors make to your institution, and donors rely on your institution to carry out the intent of their bequests. As such trusts and estate gifts require additional attention. In this presentation learn which gifts must be accepted by the Board of Regents and follow the process from notification to realization. Topics will include how to handle gifts from trusts, bequests, IRA and life insurance beneficiary designations, and real and personal property. The target audience for this session includes Advancement Services professionals involved in the administration of planned gifts at the institutional level and any Planned Giving or other Gift Officers working with donors on these gifts.
