Performance Appraisal Training

It's mid-May which means we are nearing the end of the FY2022 performance period that runs from June 1, 2021 through May 31, 2022.  In preparation, we encourage your attendance at one of OTI's upcoming Performance Management training sessions and ask that you review the checklist below.

Per HOP 3.5.2 Performance Appraisals and Regents' Rule 30501 Employee Evaluations, performance appraisals should be reviewed and electronically signed by employees and supervisors by July 1 to be considered merit eligible.

We will be conducting two interactive virtual information sessions on May 25th and May 26th for supervisors and employees to begin this year's performance appraisal process.  The sessions will cover:

  • Performance Management Overview & Cycle
  • Performance Appraisal Framework
  • Reviewing Current Goals in the Performance Appraisal
  • Employee & Manager Roles in the Performance Appraisal Process
  • Tips, Tools & Resources to aid in making the appraisal process meaningful.

Please refer to the email sent on 5/13 at 1:44 for meeting invites to the virtual information sessions.

Your HR Business Partner is available to answer any questions and provide you with additional support for the upcoming appraisal period.

FY 2023 Holiday Schedule

The FY 2023 holiday schedule has been posted.

The number of annual holidays a state agency is permitted to observe is determined by the national and state holidays referenced in Sec. 662.003 of the Texas Government Code including where those holidays fall during the calendar week. Holidays that fall on a weekend are not included in the total annual count.

For FY 2023, we are permitted to observe 13 holidays. Due to the number of holidays permitted next FY year, the schedule does not include a floating holiday.

All employees scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week for at least 4.5 continuous months are eligible for holiday leave. Eligible part-time employees receive holiday leave proportionate to the number of hours scheduled to work weekly.
