Systemwide Executive Compliance Committee
Responsibility for oversight of the Systemwide Compliance Program and the execution of the Compliance Charter rests with the Systemwide Executive Compliance Committee (ECC). The Systemwide ECC's responsibilities are to:
- Review and approve the risk assessment and the Annual Compliance Work Plans for the Systemwide Compliance Office
- Receive a report and recommendation from the Systemwide Compliance Officer regarding the appropriateness of the Annual Compliance Work Plans developed by The University of Texas System institutional compliance programs
- Review, revise, and approve UT System policies regarding the Federal Sentencing Guidelines’ standards for the UT System institutional compliance programs
- Review and approve UT System compliance priorities which are the minimum requirements and/or best practices developed by the Systemwide Compliance Program for high-risk and emerging compliance areas
- Charter compliance advisory committees to study and make recommendations with regard to best practices for high risk areas and monitor activities and report periodically to the Systemwide ECC
- Monitor the progress of the Systemwide Compliance Office regarding the execution of the Annual Compliance Work Plans
- Provide oversight over the UT System institutional compliance programs
- Provide guidance on investigations performed by the Systemwide Compliance Officer as appropriate
- Review investigation results and approve corrective action plans presented by the Systemwide Compliance Officer
- Contribute to the Chancellor for the annual review of the Systemwide Compliance Officer and the Systemwide Compliance Office’s available resources to ensure that they are adequate
- Review and approve the Systemwide Compliance Program Charter as well as any revisions to the Charter
The Systemwide ECC is chaired by the Chancellor. Other members include the Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, the Executive Vice Chancellor for Business Affairs, the Executive Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs, and the Vice Chancellor and General Counsel.
