Wellness Leave

UT System permits Wellness Leave to support our employees in regular physical fitness activities. Departments should follow the steps below to initiate Wellness Leave.

Responsibilities

Employees:

  1. Review HOP 3.3.1 Leave Policy, Sec. 9 Wellness;
  2. Download the Wellness Leave Agreement;
  3. Complete & sign the agreement; and
  4. Submit the agreement to their manager for approval.

Managers:

  1. Review the agreement and sign (if approved); and
  2. Send the signed agreement to the employee and department timekeeper.

Agreements will be maintained by the department. The Office of Talent & Innovation will not maintain copies.

Entitlement

  • Up to three times per week
  • Up to 30 minutes per event during normal working hours
  • To participate in activities supporting the prevention, treatment, and/or promotion of employees' physical, mental and/or emotional well-being
  • Time may not be split or carried over from one day to another
