System Administration Standard of Conduct Guide
Report Suspected Noncompliance
The University of Texas System Administration encourages employees to report any suspected compliance concerns. Examples of reportable concerns include illegal or fraudulent activity, financial misstatements or irregularities, conflicts of interest, unethical conduct, or violations of laws, rules, regulations, policies or procedures. If you have questions as to whether an action is reportable or not, please contact your supervisor or the System Administration Compliance Officer.
How can I report a violation?
Employees are encouraged to address compliance concerns through their institution's normal administrative channels. However, there are several methods for reporting suspected compliance and ethics violations.
- Talk to your supervisor or department head,
- Contact the System Administration Compliance Officer, or
- Call the System Administration hotline at 1-877-217-2426 or provide your report Online
What is the Hotline?
The System Administration Hotline and Online Web Form provide confidential ways for employees to report suspected wrongdoing in a manner that preserves anonymity and assures non-retaliation. They are operated by an outside company not affiliated with the UT System and are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If utilizing the Hotline, your call will be taken by a trained professional who will ask you questions about your concern. Reports submitted through the Hotline or Web Form are then forwarded to the appropriate university officials who will promptly address the allegations.
Can I choose to report anonymously?
You may choose to report anonymously and the information you provide will be treated as confidential to the extent permitted by law.
Do I have protection from retaliation if I report in good faith?
UT System policy, Regents' Rules and Regulations, and state law prohibit retaliation against anyone who in good faith reports an instance of suspected wrongdoing. (UTS 131 Protection from Retaliation for Reporting Suspected Wrongdoing)
What if my compliance concern involves another UT institution?
The System Administration compliance hotline and online web form are intended for use by employees of System Administration. If you are an employee of another UT System institution and you observe conduct not in compliance with laws, rules, regulations, policies or procedures, you are encouraged to report the situation to your supervisor, department head, institutional compliance officer, or your institution's compliance hotline number provided below.
