The Office of Employee Benefits is excited to announce a new benefit for UT System Administration employees. Beginning on October 16, 2017, employees will have access to a telemedicine clinic located on the 19th floor of the UT System Building in Austin. The Telemedicine Clinic is a 6-month pilot between Office of Employee Benefits, UT Medical Branch, and UT Austin’s School of Nursing. If successful, we are hoping to make this a long-term benefit. The Heartsaver CPR/AED course follows the requirements of the American Heart Association with 2015 guideline updates and instructs students on the most current life saving techniques for adults. As UT System employees, all our records are covered by the Texas Public Information Act (“TPIA”). The TPIA is a state law, and it makes many of our documents and other materials available to the public. If we follow it, we stay on safe legal ground; if we don’t, we risk having monetary penalties levied against UT System Administration, or worse, criminal charges filed against our officials.

Over the past 12 hours, UT System users may have seen an increase in the number of phishing emails in their inbox. It is important to be remain cautious and attentive to email messages that come through your inbox. Our information security analysts have been working to block suspicious URLs and email accounts; however, if you access UT System email from your cell phone or your personal computer, you may not be protected.
UTPD urges students, faculty, and staff to call 911 before using social media during emergencies. While UTPD is monitoring social media when there is a crisis happening, messages can get lost and may delay police response. It is best to call 911 first. To read the full KXAN Article click here.
Annual Enrollment is here! It began on July 15 and ends on July 31. During this time you have a chance to make changes to your benefit elections. *If you want to participate in UT Flex, don't forget to log into MyUTBenefits and elect the amount, even if you don't have any other changes to make!

The new University of Texas System building is on track for substantial completion on July 12. There will still be some final work to be done in preparation for the moves, so employees won’t have access until they move in. An Open House scheduled for July 31 will provide a preview of the building—come by anytime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to explore the office floors, tour the Board Room, hang out in the Commons and try out the Wellness Center equipment!
Security researchers have discovered a PowerPoint file that, when opened, will download malware to a computer when a user hovers over a link. While the UT System Administration instance of Microsoft Office has security measures in place to stop the attack from taking place, the measures rely on users responding appropriately to the Security Notice dialog box.
Effective immediately, office supply orders from Today’s Business Solutions(TBS)/OfficeMax can be made through the new eShop system via PeopleSoft. While office supply orders can be made using a Procard through the TBS website through June 23rd, we encourage your department to become familiar with the eShop system at your earliest convenience. Each department will have their own process for the purchasing of office supplies, so please contact your department’s office supply contact to find out what your process will be with the new eShop system in place.
Plans for the System Administration Picnic, which was planned in place of a System holiday party and scheduled for June 3, have changed. Staff Council and the event committee determined that the timing was not ideal due to end of the school year, family vacations, the potential for a special legislative session and anticipated summer temperatures given the party would be outdoors in the middle of the day.

This type of online storage can make you more productive, but it also comes with security risks.
The University of Texas System Administration will be observing National Take Your Child to Work Day on Thursday, April 27. The goal of Take Your Child to Work Day is to give children ideas about various career paths and the education and skills needed to achieve their professional goals. The Staff Council has planned an organizational overview to highlight their parent’s work environment. You are encouraged to bring your children ages 8 through 18.
